The same sound may feel very different in a bedroom and a living room. When describing a recurring problem, recording where you heard it prevents separate episodes from being mixed together.
Name places consistently
Use stable names such as bedroom, living room, office and terrace. If you move a device, note the change. Without it, two similar events can be hard to compare.
A room name describes where the sound was observed. It does not automatically identify the sound’s source.
Review events over time
A view by room and time period can help reveal difficult moments. It should also mark periods with missing data instead of treating them as silence.
If several people are observing the situation, shared room names and categories can reduce misunderstandings.
