How to keep a neighbour noise log that you can actually use

Record the date, duration, room and type of sound in a clear, consistent noise log.

When noise repeats, it is easy to remember how tired you felt and harder to recall exact times. A noise log keeps the sequence clear without forcing you to retell everything from memory.

One line per event

Record the date, approximate start and end time, the room you were in and a short description. You can add how it affected your evening, while keeping that experience distinct from an acoustic measurement.

If the time or duration is uncertain, say so. An honest estimate is more useful than invented precision.

Separate fact from interpretation

“Three groups of impacts heard from the bedroom” describes what you noticed. “The upstairs neighbour did it deliberately” assigns both a source and intent. Keeping those apart makes your log easier to review and explain.

Include uneventful days when you want to understand the actual frequency, rather than remembering only the hardest nights.

Handle data carefully

Audio may capture conversations or personal information. Do not assume recording or sharing is always allowed; rules differ by country and context.

Noyzly organises your episodes and presents them in a readable report. Your data stays yours, and no sound is recorded by the app.
